Fighting for Working Families

Working families are the backbone of Salt Lake County and county government should have their backs. I will fight to expand access to affordable, high-quality child care, protect services families rely on, and make sure parents can work and raise their kids without constant financial stress. When we invest in families, we build a stronger economy and a healthier, more stable community for everyone.

The Great Salt Lake is in crisis, and inaction is not an option. I will push for bold county-wide leadership to protect the lake, reduce toxic dust, and improve air quality in every neighborhood. Clean air is a public health issue and an environmental justice issue. Our county must act with urgency to protect our health, our economy, and our future.

Budgets are moral documents and they should reflect our values. I will fight for transparent, responsible budgeting that prioritizes people, protects essential services, and makes smart long-term investments. Fiscal responsibility means saying no to waste and political favors while fully funding the programs that strengthen families, protect our environment, and serve the public good.

Parks and open spaces are not luxuries. They are essential to public health, climate resilience, and quality of life. I will stand up to protect county parks, trails, and green spaces from shortsighted development and budget cuts. Every resident deserves access to safe, well-maintained outdoor spaces, no matter their neighborhood or income level.

Salt Lake County must lead on climate action and environmental protection. I will advocate for sustainable land use, water conservation, and climate-resilient policies that protect our natural resources. Environmental stewardship is about safeguarding public health, preventing future costs, and leaving our county better than we found it. We cannot afford half measures or delay.

County government should work for everyone, not just the well-connected. I will fight to expand access to county services, close opportunity gaps, and ensure decisions are made with transparency and accountability. Equity means listening to communities that have been left out and delivering real solutions that improve lives across Salt Lake County.
