I’m running for Salt Lake County Council because our families, our environment, and our shared future deserve leadership that puts people first. I’ll fight for working families by restoring access to affordable, high-quality child care and services that help parents thrive. I’m committed to strong county-wide environmental stewardship—protecting the Great Salt Lake, improving air quality, and preserving the natural resources that define our home. As a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars, I believe in smart budgeting that delivers real results while protecting our green spaces, parks, and public lands for generations to come.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from Utah State University and a master's degree in Sport Management, also from Utah State.
My professional background spans more than 25 years in communications, including 15 years in daily journalism, 10 years in event management and marketing, and the past five years in corporate and business communications.
As a professional journalist, I worked as a writer, reporter and editor for the Salt Lake Tribune, the Deseret News, Idaho State Journal and others. My work was printed in newspapers and publications across the country. When the newspaper industry 'downsized' I found myself following another passion of mine - endurance sports - and founded Extra Mile Racing, LLC and organized more than 150 bike races, marathons and other sports event over a 10-plus year run that ended when the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the pause button on the event business.
This experience has given me a strong foundation in listening, problem-solving, and bringing people together to get things done. Additionally, I worked hand-in-hand with cities, counties and other groups to ensure procedures and laws were followed to ensure safe events.
I pivoted to a more business-centered marketing and communications career and have spent the past few years helping businesses craft quality messaging for their organizations.
The second of seven children raised in the Bear Lake Valley, I grew up appreciating family. My grandparents were farmers and I come from a family of teachers and educators. The education system is important to me and taking care of our students, teachers and schools will always be near the top of my priority list.
Salt Lake County is more than just where I live - it's where I've built a life, a family, and a future. I’m committed to serving our city with integrity, transparency, and a genuine passion for progress. I would appreciate your support and vote in the upcoming election.

Every dollar helps our campaign to build a Salt Lake County Council that works for us all.
